Private Addiction & Trauma Recovery on the Cyprus Coast
Dual Treatment is the coordinated treatment of addiction alongside a psychological condition it occurs with — such as anxiety, depression, or trauma — delivered as one integrated plan rather than two separate, disconnected programmes. Sometimes referred to as dual diagnosis, this approach recognises that these conditions are connected and treats them together, one-to-one, from the outset.

Dual Treatment is the practice of treating an addiction and a co-occurring psychological condition — anxiety, depression, trauma, and others — as one connected clinical picture rather than as unrelated problems handled in isolation. At Holina Executive this is delivered entirely one-to-one, never in a group format, and paced to the individual.
It is a well-established clinical understanding that addiction seldom exists on its own. For many people, substance use develops alongside — or in response to — anxiety, depression, or unresolved trauma, and over time each condition tends to sustain the other. Treating only one side so often fails.
Psychiatric oversight is provided by Dr. Aviva Wolf, Consultant Psychiatrist across the Holina network, who brings more than 25 years of experience in addiction and Dual Treatment. Psychotherapy is overseen by Hamutal Cohen, Psychologist and Psychotherapy Team Manager across the Holina network. Depending on individual needs, a resident’s wider care may include additional specialists — always coordinated through the same plan.
The defining feature of Dual Treatment here is that it is one plan — not two programmes running side by side, and not one condition treated after the other in sequence. That plan is entirely one-to-one and individually paced, with no fixed track to complete and no group timetable to keep pace with.
The psychological conditions we most often treat alongside addiction include generalized anxiety disorder and OCD — each treated as part of the same coordinated plan, never in isolation.
Is Dual Treatment the same as dual diagnosis?
They describe the same clinical idea. “Dual diagnosis” is the term many people search for, while at Holina Executive we use “Dual Treatment” because our emphasis is on treating both together through one integrated plan.
Which condition is treated first?
Neither is treated in isolation or in a fixed order. Because the two are so often connected, they are addressed in parallel within a single plan.
Is treatment delivered in groups?
No. All care at Holina Executive is one-to-one, with a maximum of twelve residents at any time.
Holina Executive occupies a private estate on the Cyprus coast, designed for discretion and calm, where privacy is treated as a clinical necessity rather than a luxury.
